Ein exakter geschichtlicher Werdegang des Jordanhofes ist derzeit nicht vorhanden. Es gab bisher keine \u201eBezugsperson\u201c, die sich f\u00fcr Vorgeschichte dieses Hauses interessierte. Erst im Zuge der Renovierung des Geb\u00e4udes beginnt der F\u00f6rderverein Sch\u00f6nfeld sich auch um die historische Entstehung des Geb\u00e4udes zu interessieren. Eine wissenschaftlich fundierte Bearbeitung der Vorgeschichte des Ortes und im speziellen des \u201eJordanhofes\u201c steht noch aus, wird aber als einer der Teilaufgaben des FVS weiter verfolgt. Der illyrische Stamm der Veneter ist bereits um das Jahre 1000 v. Chr. G. nachweisbar. Seine \u00e4lteste Niederlassung befand sich jenseits des Jauken, auf der sogenannten Gurina.<\/span>
Um das Jahr 500 v. Chr. G. wanderten die Kelten, ein den Germanen verwandtes Volk, sowohl aus dem Donautal als auch von Tirol kommend, in K\u00e4rnten ein.<\/span>
Die Gegend von Steinfeld geh\u00f6rte zum \u201eregnum Noricum\u201c mit der Keltenstadt Teurnia.<\/span>
Die R\u00f6mer haben nun als Meister des Stra\u00dfenbaues auch das Drautal dem ausgezeichneten Stra\u00dfennetz ihres Imperiums angeschlossen. Von Teurnia, das sehr rasch zu einer sch\u00f6nen Stadt mit Tempeln und Pal\u00e4sten erweitert wurde, bauten sie eine Stra\u00dfe durch das obere Drautal nach Aguntum, das vier Kilometer vor dem gegew\u00e4rtigen Lienz lag. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bl\u00fctezeit des Bergbaues; zu Beginn des 16. Jhdt wurde Steinfeld zum Sitz eines eigenen Berggerichtes auserkoren. 12 Raitb\u00fccher aus dem Jahre 1529, 1538, 1550, 1579, 1580, 1581, 1583, 1584, 1585, 1588, 1589 und 1602 geben Auskunft \u00fcber Grubenbesitzer, Bezeichnung der Grube, gewonnene Erzmengen und vorgeschriebene Ablieferungen an den Staat. Diese befinden sich im Archiv der Berghauptmannschaft in Klagenfurt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Im Jahre 1860 wurde das Jordanhaus, ein ehemaliger Gewerkensitz, einem gewissen Herrn Schwarzl um 2200 Gulden abgekauft und zum Schulhaus umgestaltet.
